Tigers designate Lopez for assignment; recall rookie P Miller

06/10/2007 - Detroit, MI (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Detroit Tigers designated pitcher Aquilino Lopez for assignment on Sunday.

The right-handed reliever had one save and a 4.26 earned run average in six appearances with the Tigers this season.

To replace Lopez on the roster, Detroit recalled rookie Andrew Miller from Double-A Erie. The team's first-round draft pick in 2006, Miller will make the second start of his career Sunday against the New York Mets.

In his first start Miller hurled six scoreless innings in a victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on May 18.
