In the first inning, Milwaukee starting pitcher Jeff Suppan threw a fastball high and inside that hit Hunter on his left hand as he attempted to get out of the way.

Hunter, who came into Sunday's contest hitting .307 with 14 home runs and 54 runs batted in, was replaced in the lineup by Lew Ford.
